May 14th and 15th brings the Bloomin’ Barbque and Bluegrass Festival back to Sevierville, Tennessee. The festival is held each year around the Sevier County Courthouse and features three top barbque vendors, a barbque championship and live music including a performance by the Dan Tyminski band.
Admission to the festival is free and everyone is invited. In addition to all the barbque, there will be alot of fair food like kettle corn, cotton candy and the like.
Barbque teams from around the country will compete in the Tennessee State Barbque Championship. The top cooks will be judged in the following categories: chicken, ribs, pulled pork and brisket. The winners will be announced at 4 p.m. on May 15.
Music will kick off May 14th with local bands, with Jimbo Whaley performing at 6:30 p.m. Blue Highway will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. Performances on May 15th are The Tony Rice Unit at 6:30 p.m. and the Dan Tyminksi Band at 8. The event ends both nights at 10.
