Gatlinburg’s annual Ribfest and Wings was a huge success. There was a little bit of everything at this year’s Ribfest like the Food City 500’s Giant Shopping Cart, clowns, sharks and penguins, the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile and even Captian Jack Sparrow riding a Segway.
Main street was blocked off from the Mountain Mall to Blaine’s Bar and Grill. The festitivies started at 6, with people getting in line for the ribs at 5. The smell of barbque floated throughout town. Twelve dollars got you a wristband and the right to eat ribs until they ran out while listening to live entertainment.
The Gatlinburg Fire Department, the Gatlinburg Police Department, TGI Fridays, Corky’s Ribs, Food City, Bubba Gump, Gatlinburg Elks Lodge, Puckers and Crawdaddy’s were several of the teams grilling. The food was excellent. All the teams deserve a pat on the back for the delicious ribs.
